Presidents Club trip with Appirio and Whitney Fusion Events

When Whitney Fusion Events asked me to fly to Mexico to document an event they were planning – I jumped. Literally, don’t mind that I’m 8 months pregnant. You may remember the event I shot for her a couple months back (here is a refresher). Her team is talented, professional and it is so much fun to see what creativity arises… this Mexico trip was no exception.

To reward their top sellers, Appirio (an amazing company, with amazing values… more to come on them) flew their top 20 or so employees down to Punta Mita, Mexico – to the St. Regis to be exact. Relaxation, fun, food, and some parties awaited. You can see by the images below that a great time was had by all…

Each night guests would retreat back to their room and presents were waiting for them – things like Toms footwear and eyeglasses, handcrafted Mexican platters, custom tee-shirts – these all provided by Whitney Fusion Swag. The amazing company – Appirio decided to give back to Mexico…. during the trip tables, chairs, ceiling fans and school supplies were donated to a local kindergarten. As we approached the school to set up these necessities – we learned that their power had been shut of just days before. It seems as if the school had owed almost a years worth of power, and there was no solution in site. Not only did Appirio immediately jump into action and pay their past year of power to get them current, and to get the power turned back on – but they paid for a year in advance. I cried… I am hormonal, but in the words of the principle, “we felt like we were forgotten.” It was an amazing thing to witness, I was HONORED to be there for such a powerful day.

Mike and Dana, Sonoma engagements

When Mike first contacted me about doing his engagements, I was so thrilled. I’ve known Mike since college – we lived next to each other in college… and I have the most fond, fun memories with Mike and his roommates. Mike and Dana live in Arizona, so it was an added bonus that they were flying out to have their pictures taken with me (and a bit of added pressure, which I thrive on).

I don’t think you can beat mustard season in Sonoma… sunset light… beautiful people and a old train car. Enjoy.

Jon and I went to college together, he was an amazing athlete and a kind person… his family is equally incredible. I even had the pleasure of spending a Thanksgiving with them one year…. all 80 of them, they invite everyone they know and create such an amazing celebration… the true meaning of Thanksgiving. Enter Gina… at first glance she is one of the most stunning women you’ve ever seen… her smile is infectious and she couldn’t have fit in more perfectly with Jon’s family. The two are changing the world… their travels and their jobs make them some of the most dynamic and interesting people I know.

I couldn’t have loved this wedding more. Abundance of love, and honored to have captured it.

And, Sweet on Cake created that amazing sparkle cake, can you think of anything better? Really?
The amazing rentals were provided by Wine Country Party and Events – I’m so impressed with their new furniture. Can’t wait to see my brides using it this year. They are extremely helpful and I couldn’t recommend them more.

BR Cohn Elopement…

I don’t get to shoot NEARLY enough elopements, but I want to… they are filled with so many sweet emotions, and in this case I was awarded the “Maid of Honor” title as well as the photographer.

Kristy and Todd are an amazingly sweet couple. Their wedding was stylish, meaningful and I couldn’t have been happier to be present for SUCH a beautiful afternoon.

Thank you to A Savvy Event for their mad design and coordination skills, and Crisp Bake Shop (Sonoma) for the amazing cake.

Katie and Matt, SWEETHEARTS!

So, not only was I shooting at one of my favorite locations, Cornerstone… but I was also photographing an amazingly sweet couple – Katie and Matt. I loved getting to know these two, and they were so relaxed and easy-going… made for a beautiful wedding and a (I like to think) beautiful photographs. Katie and Matt were surrounded by amazing friends and family, their huge smiles told me just how much fun they were having. Can’t wait to keep in touch with these two…. just sweethearts!

Kit and Eddie – this is why I’m a wedding photographer

Over a year ago I met a sweet couple – Kit and Eddie… something about the way they were sitting together on my studio couch – their sense of humor and their ideas for their wedding. I HAD to work with them. I was thrilled they felt the same way about me…

Kit and Eddie’s wedding couldn’t come soon enough… I’ve been excited all year to watch their wedding take shape. Not only were they married at one of my all time favorite venues (Scribe Winery) – but they also had so many unique elements to their day. For instance, they saw a street band performing outside a concert they attended – they had to have em, and thus, that was their wedding band. They choose music quotes and painted on pieces of found wood around their ceremony site. They made a ‘Polaroid set’ for their guests, using a vintage couch and old suitcases. Eddie’s background is that he is a chef, so the food and the attention to detail among the reception was unparalleled.

This couple REALLY loves eachother, they ooze love – I love their images below. But I think the MOST special moment I’ve EVER HAD at a wedding came not from Kit and Eddie, but from Kit and her father….

Kit’s father uses a wheelchair to get around . He used his braces to walk her down the rugged grassy walkway – the support and the love that they shared during that moment was magnetic. Then…. during their customary ‘father/daughter dance’ he wheeled himself out onto the dance floor and without hesitation Kit climbed on her fathers lap and they danced around the dance floor. I tear as I write this because, though they didn’t dance across the floor in the conventional way that we imagine, their dance could not have been any more perfect – the love and the laughter that was felt by not only them in that moment, but by all the guests was magical. I’ll never forget that wave of goosebumps and love that washed over me – over everyone. Those moments are exactly why I continue to photograph weddings…. capture that (below) for this sweet couple makes my heart sing.
